Can I work part time as a journalist while still in hugh school?

I can write well, like writing articles, and this past year I was on my schools newspaper club. If there's any chance if ne getting a job I think I can prepare a good portfolio and I interview well. Im 16, what do you think the potential of this job honestly is (part time, im a 16 year old guy, im commuted enough, I need moreto experience)
